COMMISSIONS
This section offers more detailed information about commission subjects that are most suited to Adrian’s painting style, the options when it comes to the physical scope of the commission, the overall process, price range and typical lead times, additional services that may be required and appropriate terms and conditions:
Ideal Commission Subjects
Adrian Rawlinson has considerable experience with painting a wide range of landscapes, with a number of themes:
- Conventional landscapes with, or without water, for example the English Lake District, or even more dramatic scenery, such as the Northern Cape
- Landscapes featuring buildings, or people
- Houses and the surrounding garden
- Golf courses
- Clients are invited to influence the design, overall impression and visual impact of their bespoke commission, for example by supplying a photograph, perhaps with additional reference photographs that the oil painting can be based on
Scope of Commissions
- Most commissions are for single pieces of artwork, other options are pairs, or a series of paintings with a common theme
- Usual sizes range approximately from approximately 10”, (250mm) to 40”, (1m), in square, or rectangular, portrait, or landscape format
- In addition to original oil painting on stretched canvas, limited edition prints and / or greeting cards, (especially for Christmas), can be supplied
- There is an option to use a deep canvas, which does not require an additional frame. For a shallower canvas that requires framing post completion and initial period of drying, then the frame is usually chosen by mutual agreement between the client and the artist and is often influenced by the intended location and surrounding of the completed artwork
Commissioning Process
Oil painting commissions are created using the following process of artist and client interaction:
- Initial enquiry from client to artist
- Discussion between client and artist to agree design
- Artist provides quotation and confirms the proposed composition and details of size and type of canvas, colour palette, content and style and requirement for framing
THERE IS NO CHARGE UP TO THIS POINT
- Client makes decision to proceed
CLIENT IS REQUIRED TO PAY DEPOSIT
- When the artwork is completed, artist provides photograph / image of the painting
- If required, a frame can then be selected
- When completed client will be advised and delivery can be arranged
BALANCE OF PAYMENT IS DUE UPON DELIVERY
